Dave Eggers ' adaptation of children's book Where The Wild Things Are is not expected until next year, but an apparent screen test circulating online is already drumming up more interest in the Spike Jonze film, if that's possible. In a deleted post about the clip, Entertainment Weekly writer Adam Vary wrote, "the emotional impact of this scene is. readily apparent," and mentioned "a peek at footage" he got last fall, in which "I was totally hooked from the first frame." (It's not clear why Vary's post was pulled, but it's worth noting that his magazine's parent company is producing the film.) Director Spencer Sloan is "more excited for the real deal than [I] ever thought possible. This is pitch perfect ." All this just adds to the buzz around the film, whose script New York magazine called "really, really good" in the fall . The clip is after the jump, but here's a question while you watch, via Sloan: Who is voicing wild thing Carol (gawker.com....oplay=true)

Well if there was no marks on the goat, then a raccoon didn't kill it. Raccoons usually go after birds, mice, rats and frogs, but I have seen wild ones come in and eat with the cats, so they wouldn't kill a baby goat and if they did it would be a mess, because they rip things up (en.allexperts.com....g-baby.htm)

Is it possible for the Rangers to be the overlooked meat of a âsandwichâ game? The surging Caps hosted Carolina on Friday and will visit Atlanta on Wednesday and Florida on Friday in pivotal games within the wide-open Southeast Division. The Rangers have gone 2-0-1 in their three meetings with Washington this season. But after two shut-down wins at the Garden, the Rangers lost a wild one in overtime at Washington on Dec. 12. The Caps were 7-3-0 in their last 10 going into the Carolina game, taking over the Southeast lead in the process. Making a bid for his first Hart and Ross trophies, Alexander Ovechkin leads the NHL in goals (46) and points (73). (www.nydailynews.com....p_t-2.html)

Computer salespeople are like used car salesmen. They only care about making the sale and pushing products out the door. To this end, they make wild promises to customers and tell them everything that they want to hear. But when any service issues arise, who gets to deal with it? Certainly not the salesperson who pushed that product on to the customer. Instead, it57;s the technicians who have to clean up the mess (www.appleology.com....x-by-2008/)

Iâve been known to do a few wild and crazy things in my lifetime. This summer was no exception. Eight middle-aged guysâincluding meâswapped our suits and ties for leather duds and boots and then hit the road on Harleys. Their debut statement of intent A Sheltered Life appeared on the Big Cat label late in 1988. One of the big bang events that helped to kick off the conference was the huge success of and the immense community behind Asterisk . Without a doubt Asterisk has been one of the greatest things to happen to telephony ever. An open source PBX that made phone calls and call routing accessible to external program control. And it will run on cheap PC hardware with a telephony card. What happened next was that the lower cost first helped those who were excluded from having a PBX phone system and saved money for those who were looking to upgrade their current setup. All low hanging easy fruit. What was more exciting was seeing startups like free 411 companies, social entrepreneurs like Tad Hirsch do challenging, wild and clever things (Speakeasy) with something as normally mundane and established as a phone line. They saw that Asterisk allowed them to use calls and telephony as a program controllable channel just as email is. I met someone at Cluecon last year who had built a training system for Army sergeants using Asterisk that connected 300 lines in a matri (www.oreillynet.com....g/2006/07/)

I'm also including a couple of b-sides, the wild but a little too long "The Snake," and a later track that popped up on a single from the pretty awful Ceremony album.
