This is an amazing idea it implies tone, gravitas and again, maturity. The credits suggest that there are no quick solutions (we blow it up and it goes away), but that this is an ongoing war of attrition which the humans are losing (BG keeps the weird 'it's not Earth, but it's a planet that has Earth customs and follows a weird mix of the Greek gods and aetheism'. They have hot dogs, but trade in cubits that sort of thing). This is such a smart idea it really sets the tone for the series, in the same way that Enterprise manages to do so catastrophically in the other direction (yeah!
