This was one of our favorite memories from our trip to Hawaii . We had to wake up early to drive to the Kona side of the island from our stay in Keaau but it was definitely worth it. We were 2 on the 6 (www.tripadvisor.es....awaii.html)
Our family has been to Ludlow's Island twice and plan to return in 2006. This resort is the perfect getaway for families with young children who crave peace and quiet but want a little pampering too! The cottages are clean with updated baths and kitchens but also have the rustic charm we desired for our north woods experience. The service is superior, staff is available at all hours and is very friendly, polite and especially kind to the kids. Optional activities for families are planned throughout each week but there is plenty of down time too, most activities only last a few hours. Local sightseeing is described in a daily newsletter delivered to your cottage with your morning newspaper. There are no cars on the island and pets are not allowed so the sounds of nature are uninterrupted. They need to make some seriouschanges before I will return.Not only is the staff very rude the service is a joke. We took our daughter for her 30th birthday. We chartered a crewed yacht named Wanderlust.This is the best vacation that I ever had. The group ages 5-72 and we all had a blast, there was not a time in the day we did not have anything to do, we visited and toured 6 island and the captain said there are 30 islands, the had wind boards, scuba gear, tubes, wake boards ever think! It was the best. My mom and dad loved it even more it was luxurious and quiet, the crew was great anticipated our every need, and were wonderful with the kids. The nice place of Holbox, with hot and clean sea but no lot of fish to see, nice place to go with young children for example. Los mapaches is also a nice place, with pleasant people caring about you, and a very pleasant breakfast to get cared by Rosy . Do ask her to have a look to birds island, her likable husband will organise it. The best is not to have the orange 'palapa' because of the American fisherman that wake up at 6 every morning, just 5 meters from the upper bedroom without any think to stop the sound of slamming door, toilets, and people talking together (as if they were alone.). If you go there, you must have the Tiburon balena trip to snorkel with those splendid animals. For good rate (not the palapa owner solution) you can with the congenial captain from next shop as nice boat trip , seen also dolphins jumping and having snorkelling with nice fish, 1 hour from the port (www.tripadvisor.com....nsula.html)
Your eyes are bloodshot. Season is changing and you just can't wake up. You choke down your grande with shot of expresso (on second thought, make it a double, barrista). Thumb through the paper . The temperature regulation in the room was not functioning too well and it was really hot at times in our room, though very very nice in the hotel area. Also, between 3pm or so and supper time, there is nothing to eat but some tiny sandwiches for sale in the lobby. The hotel isn't exactly central and that day it was raining, so as we had missed lunch we pretty much starved til supper. but the buffet was worth it then! Also the buffet was much better on one of the two evenings. Wow! This place is even more perfect than the photos on its website! I don't even think my review will do it justice. The property is set on a hillside about five minutes outside Queenstown with the most spectacular views imaginable. My wife and I spent seven nights at Azur, and wish we could have stayed longer. Everything about Azur is first class - the huge villas, the furniture, the amazing bathroom beneath windows that open fully to reveal a world class view of the lake and mountains, and the service. Talk about service! This boutique property places more emphasis on service than any other place I have ever stayed, and I have travelled the world and stayed at some great hotels. Tim, the concierge, is warm, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and elevates the word service to a new level. The chef, Martin , cooks amazing breakfasts (which you can have delivered to your room and set up for you on your table overlooking the lake and mountains or eat in bed). In fact, we would wake up and call to tell Martin what we felt like that day and would make it (crepes, pancakes, omelettes, bacon eggs, etc) - some days we left it up to Martin and were never disappointe (www.tripadvisor.com....sland.html)
We stayed at Taveuni Plams to attend a wedding , the most beautiful wedding we have ever been too. The only bad thing to say about our stay is that we had to leave. It was truly like living in a postcard, you didn't want to touch anything because you might wake up from this dream. I stayed in the cintra apartments only a week ago, the apartments are lovely with everything you need and the they are very central. We were not prepared for the noise that would wake us up at 6.30am every day. There are two construction sites outside this building and the noise is deafening even when the windows are closed. Both boats were very clean, bathrooms large, staff very attentive and very stable (easy to get in/out of). The food served on the AM cruise was very good, and the snorkeling in the reef was nice. The snorkel cruise was particularly nice due to the amenties aboard ship. They had rx masks, tubes, a slide, diving platform, cash bar, drinks, etc. On the way back we even stopped to see some humpbacks and to let the dolphins play in our wake. I would recommend this snorkel cruise for anyone with kids as well, as there are flotation devices and viewing windows so the kids can go in the water with you (www.tripadvisor.com....awaii.html)
