I can no longer take the Hall of Fame seriously. This year57;s inductees are a joke. Until the real Rock and Roll legends are inducted, it57;s just a politcally correct list, nothing mor (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
When MTV came about, bands forgot all about having an individualistic sound and focused on making 60;music61; that appealed to the program director at MTV. MTV ruined rock and roll as far as I57;m concerned (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
I think in todays world we kind of have to acknowledge that many forms / styles of music may fall under the term, 60;rock roll,61; much to the dismay of many of us old young!) rock fans (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
I57;m sure the arguements / complaints will long continue as to who warrants inclusion into the rock roll HOF of course if it was based purely on commercial / sales success, Kiss should57;ve been in there many moons ago (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
Always wanted to go a ROCK 56;N57; ROLL Hall of Fame70;.but not this one! Too many selections and some of them not the right ones!70;By the way WHERE the Dave Clark Five (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
the fact that hes not in the rock and roll hall of fame and people like grandmaster flash and the furious five are even being CONSIDERED for a NOMINEE is disgraceful (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
The rock hall bases their inductions on how influential bands were. Kiss was not influential in the least bit. Cheap Trick and Foreigner were not influential (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)

But there was a (not Breezy -specific) issue with OSD display, forcing you to restart acpid once logged into X to make OSD messages work. Is one of your New Years' Resolutions to get fit? Try running the Little Rock Marathon. It will be March 7 in downtown Little Rock and training is already underway. They even have a training schedule for you to follow (littlerock.about.com....thon-2.htm)
According to the training schedule this week, we should be able to walk 18 miles. Saturday's walk is an 8 mile walk. I have to admit, the longest walk I've done lately is about 3 miles but I will attempt an 8 mile walk on Saturday (littlerock.about.com....week-2.htm)
Next week's schedule: 3 miles on Monday, 4 on Tuesday, 3 on Thursday and then a 10 mile walk/run on Saturday. It doesn't sound at all bad when you put it like that! At this point, it's much the same for the half but Saturday's walk will only be 5 miles (littlerock.about.com....week-2.htm)

It's important to get the right shoes if you plan to run and it's probably best to train at least a little in them. They say you need to buy new shoes every 300-500 miles and you should never run a race with brand new shoes (littlerock.about.com....week-4.htm)
I suggest going to a store that specializes in running shoes like Easy Runner in the Bowman Curve Shopping Center (400 North Bowman Rd., Ste. 3, 501-221-0017). Those guys will watch you run and tell you what shoes you need. (littlerock.about.com....week-4.htm)

The RnR HOF shouldn57;t induct so many acts every year. Its ludicrous. As most folks have already pointed out, the nominations are a joke. There are so many bands that can be added that it can57;t be taken seriously toda (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
What about a band that started in 1968 and is still going today and continues to sell out crowds in Europe as well as the US. I57;m talking about Yes. If nothing else Rick Wakeman as a solo artist should be inducted (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)

I love music and I try to listen to everyone and everything at least once, but either I was sheltered, or heard and just ignored, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
Tull needs to be in before Kiss, the Flash Five, and Rush. Tull came along when bands took pains to sound different from everyone else. That period of time spawned the best rock and roll music ever. I57;m sorry to see that so much of it is being used to sell burgers and Cadillacs, but it goes to show that the music nowadays, by and large, ain57;t what it used to m (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
Aha, I57;m hearing / reading so many valid statements above can57;t argue with most of them I 100% agree about the statement / reference, 60;It57;s the Rock Roll Hall Of Fame,61; not rap, jazz, house, etc, although followers of those 70;, erm, 60;sounds61; makers would say, 60;so where would our music57;s success be recognized then?61 (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
There57;s also another side to that as well, completists could say that the likes of Van Halen , Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath , Kiss, etc, are not rock roll anyway that true rock roll, was say the likes of Buddy Holly, Elvis, Little Richard , Jerry Lee Lewis, etc, see what I57;m saying 70;, but57;s that57;s really not me 70;., as I understand recognize rock rolls many guises 70; (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
Hey Ron 70;, you must either be from Canada or the UK! You mention Status Quo should be inducted! Ha! I57;d agree with you for anywhere but the States success 70;. (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
BTW I57;m not certain, but is Peter Frampton already inducted? He has the best selling Live album ever, Frampton Comes Alive 70;, shouldn57;t that warrant inclusion 70;? Here begins / begs another question why 70;, huh? (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
Correction: The ORIGINAL Grand Funk Railroad had 10 consecutive Platinum albums, under the leadership of Mark Farner. This 60;museum61; will finally have some credibility in my opinion, when they recognize the ORIGINAL Grand Funk Railroad and especially Mark Farner (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
Jann Wenner can only be embarrassed that NEIL SEDAKA and most of the Brill Building participants are not in the Hall of Fame while Donna Summer and Afrika Bambaattaa are being considered for induction this year (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
By the way, the money raised by Neil at Avery Fisher Hall last friday Oct.26th was sent to Elton Johns AIDS Foundation. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, with $12 million in assets, gives no money to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland other than to maintain its own archives. It also donates around $150,000 a year to indigent musicians, but pays its own director upwards of $300,000 a year. Just in case you forgo (classicrock.about.com....f-2007.htm)
