Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (also known as Garfield 2) is a sequel to the original Garfield movie that came out in 2004. The film is live action except for Garfield, who is CGI-animated, and both films are adapted from Jim Davis ' famous cartoon strip, which can be read in about 2,600 newspapers around the world. Trivia: Billy Conolly admitted in an interview that when he was offered the role of Lord Dargis in this sequel, he wasn't aware that the first Garfield movie existed. more (us.imdb.com/title/tt0455499/)

"Where the Wild Things Are" is one of those children's books that is so beloved that it probably shouldn't be made into a movie. There are too many ways to screw it up, and unlike a "Garfield" or even an " Alvin and the Chipmunks " movie, a bad "Wild Things " movie will be very conspicuou (www.sfgate.com....ing/index?)

Change your IM look to the kitty from the hit summer movie with this pack of IM icons. Shame on me for being so outta the loop regarding the new "Garfield" movie that's been out for a week or so, but in just now hearing that Bill Murray (why, Bill, why?!?) speaks the cat's lines for the. (blogging.la/archives/2004/06/)

The movie is set in 1881. On the train English Bob and others discuss the shooting of President James Garfield, which happened 2 July, 1881. While Little Bill is beating up English Bob he remarks that it's Independence Day , 4 July, 188 (us.imdb.com....105695/faq)

Got to talk to Tom one night with Actor Steve Guttenberg From Police Academy Movie on LATE LATE SHOW On CBS TV In 1990's. That was a great night to talk to Tom and Steve. I forgot to record it on VCR then. Garfield, New Jersey was on the Map that night thanks to TOM SNYDER! Thank you Tom (blogtown.portlandmercury.com....r_dead.php)

I did appreciate that the movie wasn't longer than 80 minutes, which was allthe time it needed (and then some). I don't think there will ever be a Garfield 2,and we won't be buying the DVD either (blogs.sun.com....lms?page=1)

I don't see why people blast this movie so much. It is funny, well actedand well animated. Breckin Meyer plays the nerdy Jon very well and actslike the pet loving dork that we loved so much in the cartoon. Garfieldlooks amazing, almost identical to what he looked like in the cartoon.Bill Murray is perfect to play him and his voice is similar to LorenzoMusic. They included all the trates of Garfield- lasagne, TV and beinga lazy fat cat. Thye kept Odie the moronic but lovable dog. They keptthe fact that Garfield has an agreement with the mice and gets on withthem. They kept Liz the vet, which brings so much more to Jon. This isa great kids movie, that i am sure adults who watched this as a kidwill love too (us.imdb.com/title/tt0356634/)

UPDATE:  *I'm told Jack Black went slack on Saturday giving Disney/Pixar's Cars the heavily hyped title of No. 1 movie in U.S. theaters with $31 million its second weekend out. The expert predictions turned out to be right because attendance for both Paramount's Nacho Libre (-14%) and Universal's The Fast and The Furious 3 (-18%) were down Saturday from Friday. This meant a lot of the heat with one segment of the audience (young males for both) that succeeded in opening the two films on Friday failed to expand into other segments like adults or dates on Saturday. According to Paramount, that made  Nacho only No. 2 with $27.5 mil and Fast #3 with $24.0 mil with Warner Bros.' The Lake House lagging far behind in a distant 4th with $13.6 mil - so Sandra Bullock 's cold streak with American movie audiences continues. On the other hand, Paramount is pretty darn pleased with Nacho 's opening considering the movie's negative cost is only $35 mil. The only other newcomer, Fox's  Garfield 2 lagged both The Break-Up and Fox's X-Men 3 in 7th plac (www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com....06/page/2/)

One of the areas where television is at a disadvantage to film is perception. People expect entertainment (and for some, culture) when going to a movie. Poor old TV is taken for granted. We often think less of it because of the steaming piles of lameness found across the dial which is a convenient target for film fans who always seem to forget that "Garfield A Tale of Two Kitties" or "Fred Claus" or "Over Her Dead Body" clutter cinemas all the time. Plus, people pay money to see a movie. It's like going to a concert to see a favorite band. You've shelled out the cash it's infinitely harder to admit you're disappointed after that, even if it's true. I liked "American Gangster" but not enough to fall down on the ground. I also liked "Atonement," but not enough to think it was money well spent (www.sfgate.com....1V61HM.DTL)
