The Dublin foursome have spent time on the road with such highly respected bands as Gang of Four and Tapes n' Tapes, and are currently bound for a few dates in Austin during the South by Southwest Festival (thetruthenlight....gspot.com/)

He now is expected to testify all week against members of the Insane Deuces, who face murder and drug-dealing charges. Prosecutors will play tapes of gang meetings he secretly recorded, and then seven defense attorneys will take their shots. (www.suburbanchicagonews.com....S1.article)

Gurr met him when he was serving time at a camp for juvenile offenders. She introduced him to filmmakers who cast him in a movie called âGang Tapes ,â about gang life in L.A., and she encouraged him to start writing (www.msnbc.msn.c..../10143696/)

In the aftermath of the Polec murder , tapes of calls to Philadelphia 911 revealed that a series of callers had been warning authorities about a gang of baseball bat (www.salon.com....dead_boys/)

Wallace's hopes of escaping his trouble in Chicago are dashed when Rashard's uncle accuses him in the press of a hit and run. Meanwhile, Weevil has Veronica bug a church confessional to smoke out the traitor in his biker gang, and Keith acquires the interrogation tapes from the bus crash investigation (www.imdb.com....3/episodes)

Our Gang is a satire of Richard Nixon and his administration, written before Watergate, during a period when Nixon had taken stands not to Roth's liking on abortion and other matters. It takes its epigraphs from Jonathan Swift and George Orwell , but the only resemblance it bears to the work of these writers is that it, too, is written in English. Its level of humor is suggested by the name Roth gives to its protagonist: Trick E. Dixon. Told entirely in dialogue, it is sophomoric from start to finish and utterly without pertinence to any time except that in which it was written. If it belongs in the Library of America, then so too do scripts from Saturday Night Live and tapes of Lenny Bruce monologues, though any of those would be vastly funnier than Our Gang (www.washingtonpost.com....on/columns)

In New York City, a frustrated motorist who calls himself Jimmy Justice tapes traffic officers as they break the laws they're supposed to enforce. In Oceanside, Calif., a former Marine known as Gangbuster posts videos of purported gang members. In Chicago , an art studio owner dubbed the Lake Street Lookout chronicles street violence outside nightclubs, and was taping last August when a man was shot in the back five times and killed (www.latimes.com....6987.story)

And a word about the tapes. Once I've gotten some sleep I will post a short edit of the PT Cruiser Gang. We'll see what happens with the rest moving testimonials by folks who just wanted to exercise their right to participate in the process. Now I can catch up on back posts in Boing Boing and get on with life in these times. Dave, thank you (www.boingboing.net....0/31-week/)

Twenty-five years ago, I primarily learned about music from friends who dubbed a copy onto a cassette tape, where I could listen to it and make a decision if I wanted to buy the tape for myself. Now, many years removed from school, my "gang" of friends to share music with has shifted from cassette tapes and the school cafeteria to sharing mp3s online. I listen to some things that I don't like, and consequently, I don't buy those albums. What I do like, I buy, or at least I used to, before your decision intended to stop me from hearing new music (homercat.blogspot.com/)

(p. 143)In December 1995, I wrote a lengthy memo to my editors, advising them of what my Nicaraguan colleague and I had found: With the help of recently declassified documents, FBI reports, DEA undercover tapes, as well as interviews with some of the key participants, we will show how a CIA-linked drug and stolen car network provided weapons and tons of high-grade, dirt cheap cocaine to the very person who spread crack through LA and from there into the hinterlands. A bizarre bond between an elusive CIA operative and a brilliant car thief from LAâs ghettos touched off a social phenomenon âcrack and gang-powerâthat changed our lives. The day these two men met was literally ground zero for Californiaâs crack explosion. This is also the story of how an ill-planned foreign policy adventureâthe CIAâs âsecretâ war in Nicaraguaâboomeranged back to the streets of America, in the long run doing more damage to us than to our âenemiesâ in Central America. We have compelling evidence that the kingpins of this cocaine ring enjoyed a unique relationship with the US government that has continued to this da (www.popularmechanics.com....16644.html)

The Nogueira's have been in attendance and Matt Hughes and Din Thomas helped me co- referee one night.Pat Milietich and Jeremy Horn were in attendance one night an took a bow in our ring. Although there have been some great fights fought there, most of the participants consisted of thugs, degenerates, punks, bikers, gang members, ex-convicts, and other self proclaimed tough-guys. Over the course of the beach brawls, I have refereed around 200 fights. I have been punched in the face and below the belt numerous times, I've had a bloody mouthpiece spat in my face, I've been bitten two times, once was from a stripper with braces and I've been chased out of the ring by a homeless prostitute (yes women fought too). All of these are true stories that actually happened, if you don't believe me, I have the tapes. Getting back to the chokeslam. First I accidentally knock the guy over while seperating the two. I then apologize and pat the guy on the headgear. As I walk away he mushes the back of my head and when I turn around he tells me to go "F" mysel (www.youtubevidy....utube/slam)

This movie is hilarious! Jackie is a TV chef in Australia . He meets a reporter and accidentally switches one of his cooking show tapes with one of hers, a surveillance video showing a gang meeting going wrong. The gang of course wants the tape back! The chaos that ensues is the result of the mob and a rival gang all going after this tape, Jackie and the reporter. An entire mansion even gets demolished. If you want a film that has more of the comedy styling of Jackie Chan this is the one for you. (martialarts.about.com....iechan.htm)

In case youâre wondering who the âtwo top terror suspectsâ (to quote the AP) were in the tapes, one of them was Abu al-Zubaydah, a mental-deficient and now borderline insane mental-deficient travel secretary of al-Qaeda (who has since been promoted to âsenior al-Qaeda operativeâ by the pandering Wa Po ). Zubaydahâs main claim to fame, besides giving up Chicago gang-banger and wouldbe suicide bomber Jose Padilla, was in leaving behind a notebook written in three different voices. Dublin four piece Delorentos will be featured at the Music From Ireland Brunch at SXSW in Austin next month. They57;ve toured with the Futureheads, Tapes 56;n Tapes, and seminal post-punk heroes Gang of Four. Their infectious brand of indie pop rock has garnered them enough acclaim to warrant a nomination for the Choice Music Prize for best Irish Album (their equivalent to the Canadian Polaris Prize), as well as two Meteor Awards (the Irish equivalent to the Juno or Grammy awards).  The tracks Basis of Everything , and Eustace Street both caught my ear (www.indiemusicfilter.com/)

In this two-hour episode, Kyle and Amanda travel to Santa Fe, New Mexico to visit his former Marine girlfriend, Christine , to clear up the past. But later, complications threaten Amanda and Kyle's wedding day when Christine arrives in Los Angeles and later leaves a suicide note saying that she will leave her car in the front of a moving train, prompting Kyle to delay the ceremony to stop her. Meanwhile, Lexi's father suddenly dies from a stroke during a heated confrontation with Peter, who tapes the argument. When Megan accidentally discovers the tape, she shows it to Lexi who immediately blames Peter for her father's troubles and untimely death. Also, Jennifer continues to ask Billy to play her fiancé to impress her mother. When Mia eventually learns the truth about Craig's suicide, she surprisingly takes the news very well. Following the egocentric, selfish advice from Jennifer, Samantha is encouraged to act on her feelings for Jeff who takes her out to dinner. Michael also asks Mia for financing after a patient, a gang member named Spider , suggests opening a free clinic in his South-Central neighborhood, which turns out to be a front for Spider to use the clinic for his gang banger wa (us.imdb.com....1/episodes)

In the meantime Im very busy reissuing the Noise catalog that is now on Century: Rrröööaaarrr, Killing Technology and Dimension Hatröss. They are going to be remastered and re-released with a bonus DVD of the Voivod archives from the 80s. We had the Iron Gang back then, a mail order where we would sell cassettes and stuff like that. Quite often people sent me VHS tapes and cassettes of shows we played and photos. . For Rrröööaaarrr I found the first show in the U.S. with Venom in 1985 on VHS and also a very early show in January 1984 in Quebec and also a high school show in 84. I just wrapped it up and Im working on Killing Technology and Dimension Hatröss. Later on next year were going to work on Nothingface, Angel Rat and The Outer Limits (heavymetal.about.com....erview.htm)

The road trip mix. A very different approach one must make for mix tapes dedicated to long drives with your wife (friends, etc.). This is about singing along. This is not about random crazy obscure songs, or how cool am I. This about feeling like you are on the Muppets and the whole gang is happy as pie and singing and being big dorks. I excel at being a big dork. Sure you can add in a lesser known gem (Islands) but after a few seconds the carload better be singing or you have messed up (Bones, Bones, Bittle little bones.). So above is a list of songs from a four volume mix I made for our long drive (nine hours) to Memphis last year. We do the drive a few times a year, so I was hoping we would listen to them a few times. The other volumes include hits by Bad Company , Weezer, Buffalo Tom, Tom Petty , The Who , Count Five, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Primal Scream , Smoking Popes, Futureheads, and many fine others. Court hearings revealed that, despite Shetty's denials, print-outs of cellular phone records proved that contact between Shetty and the gang had taken place. On June 20 Surendra Shetty was formally arrested after surrendering to the police , later telling news reporters that the entire issue was designed to malign him and his family. When asked about the underworld 's involvement, Shetty said "I don't know, I talked to them only after they called up and said they were agents of Agarwal." Further court hearings cast doubt on the veracity of the evidence tapes; Shetty's defence claimed that it was Agarwal who recorded the telephone calls rather than the police , and that the possibility of dubbing or manipulation could not be ruled out. Shilpa was quizzed by police upon her return to India after returning from overseas filming assignments, denying all knowledge of any involvement between her parents and underworld figures and claimed that she had no knowledge of the case until it became public through the medi (www.celebrityring.info....hetty.html)
