"Gang members out here are clearly becoming more sophisticated in their operations and tactics, and we're adjusting to meet that," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas P. O'Brien. (www.foxnews.com....onal/crime)
Of course, the rest of the gang will still be here. If you want to submit a Boing Boing suggestion, use the form . I just delete Boing Boing suggestions I get by email, anyway, so this is always the right thing to do, no exceptions, ever, perio (www.boingboing.net....2/10-week/)
The survey asked "have you communicated by telephone or letter with your gang friends on the street while in this facility". Some 49.4 percent answered "no". But 50.6 percent answered "yes". (www.ngcrc.com....page10.htm)
âThink about what our group can accomplish everyday around here with the same âcan do, never quit spirit.â That was an awesome display of Dragon SlayingâThomas Nelson style. Well done, gang! (www.michaelhyatt.com....t/2007/05/)
Those with the most info areQUINLAN'S FILM COMEDY ACTORS and COMIC SUPPORT: SECOND BANANAS IN THEMOVIES. Here are the highlights: Greenwood was born in Philadelphia in 1890, made her stage debut at 15,and hit Broadway in 1912. At 5'9" and able to swing her feet over her head(one at a time), she usually worked with short partners. From 1915 to 1940,off and on, she played a character named Letty in a popular series ofplays. "She was not the ingenue, not with her long body, long face, andlong nose, but even in her later support roles in film comedies she was farfrom the stereotyped homely man-chaser." (COMIC SUPPORT) Greenwood signed with Fox in 1940 and appeared as the heroine'swisecracking pal in several musicals: DOWN ARGENTINE WAY, MOON OVER MIAMI,SPRINGTIME IN THE ROCKIES, THE GANG'S ALL HERE, and so on. Earlier she'dmade a few scattered features and several shorts, including (if I put thepieces together right) work with Bert Lahr. Greenwood's performance as AuntEller in OKLAHOMA ! is probably the easiest to find on videotap (www.pumperdink.org....kOfOz.html)
We should have learned something in our dealings with another global gang, The Mafia. It started in Europe 150 years ago; over 100 years here and it still exists despite losses to its leadership which are easily replenished by others because of its lucrative activities. —S.B (www.richardreeves.com/)
Here's a puzzler: Why doesn't Jeff Carr, the man who leads the city's anti-gang program, have any authority over the dozen or so city departments that award contracts for anti-gang services (latimesblogs.latimes.com..../digest_1/)
Sudhir Venkatesh , Columbia sociologist and author of â Gang Leader for a Day ,â is back once again for a seventh report after watching âThe Wireâ with a group of gangland acquaintances. His past reports can be found here . (freakonomics.bl....times.com/)
Here's a clip from a Japanese TV show that sends a fake gang of murderous Samurai after the world champion race walker to find out if he will run or walk quickly from the perceived threat. Link (www.boingboing.net....1/25-week/)
All the spots in the Fuel for Life campaign have been directed by Laurence Dunmore at Gang Films for creative agency FFL . All the commercials are available here , by the way. (dekku.blogspot.com/)
Update for a bonus, see Kay57;s argument against some overcooked RDBMS dogma. I strongly agree with him here, as well, even though I57;d guess Fabian Pascal and gang are still looking for scalps of such heretic (www.oreillynet.com....g/2004/07/)
The team behind Idealog (Vincent , Martin , Matt, Sarah, Ben and the gang) are really taking a lead in starting conversations as well as celebrating success. They are a valuable voice in the industry and you can support them by subscribing here . Nothing better than receiving that bimonthly package of reading jo (www.drury.net.nz/2007/07/)
This kinda runs counter to all the talk lately about the menace of gangs down here in SoCal. Apparently the state Assembly has some other priorities. Harrison Sheppard reports today that the Assembly last week backed a plan to chop in half Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger 's request for $56 million for anti-gang programs. dailynews.co (www.insidesocal....e/2007/07/)

This is where the party starts, gang. I'm setting up to watch Extreme Makeover: Home Edition here on the beautiful West Coast. I know, you Easterners already saw it. Bear with me, and we'll all have some fun here. (www.seenon.com/blog/2006/05/)
As seen in Table 5, here we get a different kind of distribution entirely, where the sample becomes evenly divided in terms of the high end of this kind of predictor of gang involvement. Half of this offenderpopulation (52.1%) report having been suspended or expelled five or more times in the past (www.ngcrc.com....page10.htm)
This higher level of aggressiveness, starting a physical fight with someone while incarcerated, like all measures of violence or disruptiveness inside a correctional facility, is expected to vary significantlywith gang membership based on previous research along these lines. The survey included the question "did you start a fight or attack someone while in this facility". Some 80.6 percent of the inmatesanswered "no". But 19.4 percent (N = 506) answered "yes": that they had in fact started a fight or attacked someone while incarcerated. (www.ngcrc.com....page10.htm)
I still hear from IT Conversations listeners that they miss theGillmor Gang. Steve has a way of inciting (and that's the rightword, I think) conversations among people that wouldn't happenotherwise and that's the true value. As much as I enjoy Steve'sblog, I like his interactions with others in venues like the GillmorGang even better. Here's to more Bad Sinatra. (www.windley.com....s/2006/12/)
The garden is growing like the proverbial gang-busters. It was only last week that we plunked the plants into the dirt, and now we have some definite growth her (www.frenzieddaddy.com....s/2003/05/)
And then there was the white farmhand talking to the [all-black] wannabe farmers: "Now we'll set up a chain gang." Pause. "You should know what a chain gang is." Pause. "Part of your culture, and all." Double pause. "Not that you're slaves here. (www.bunnyshop.org....p/2006/06/)

“There is no question that Canadian authorities are concerned about the worst gang elements from Central America migrating north and escaping some of the heat down here&rdquo (www.topix.net....or/2008/01)
However there are opportunities in VA that arnt in Morristown. Like employment and income. Yes it is more expensive to live here but the rate in which equity increses in your home is faster than in TN. Northern Virginia is more diverse than East Tennessee. We pay only a 4.5 % sales tax but we are also burdened with personal property tax and income tax. Personal property tax is a tax on the vehicles you own. If the value of that vehicle is more than 30K than you pay a luxury tax. If you won an RV or a Boat. you pay luxury tax on its worth. Try buying a 4 bedroom house on half an acre here. You will pay between 550 and 750 K. We have water front condos on the Potomac River that go for over a million. We have a rising gang problem, the closer you get to DC. The MS-13 gang is a huge issue here (www.topix.net....B511L0HHRI)
The Communist attacks were quite a differentmatter. I shall have to deal with some of these later in this book. Here I canonly give a brief indication of the Communist line of attack .On the surface the quarrel between the Communists and the P.O.U.M. was one oftactics. The P.O.U.M. was for immediate revolution , the Communists not. So farso good; there was much to be said on both sides. Further, the Communistscontended that the P.O.U.M. propaganda divided and weakened the Governmentforces and thus endangered the war ; again, though finally I do not agree, a goodcase could be made out for this. But here the peculiarity of Communist tacticscame in. Tentatively at first, then more loudly, they began to assert that theP.O.U.M. was splitting the Government forces not by bad judgement but bydeliberate design. The P.O.U.M. was declared to be no more than a gang ofdisguised Fascists, in the pay of Franco and Hitler, who were pressing apseudo-revolutionary policy as a way of aiding the Fascist cau (www.gutenberg.net.au....201111.txt)
