Does this mean that I agree with all of Dr. Karp57;s advice? Hardly. I bristle at the idea of comparing toddlers to caveman . If Dr. Karp said the same of African Americans 52; as some people did in the past 52; he would be villified. (well.blogs.nytimes.com....r-caveman/)
I had the same knee-jerk reaction to the caveman theory, but we were desperate. My child is on the brink of a word-burst, and we were experiencing a serious break-down in communication. The next step for CAVEman is to allow doctors to actually reach inside of the holograms and actually feel the tissues and compare densities. They also want to add organ sounds. Eventually, they want to be able to create patient-specific models to help explain things to patients visually. It's downright remarkable. My son-in-law's been saying this for months, and somehow, somewhere, the networks listened. Industry insiders report that the caveman from the Geico commercials has inspired a sitcom . The pilot, being developed for ABC, is about three 30-something cavemen trying to live a normal life in Atlanta while dealing with everyday prejudice. The show will be written by the same guy who wrote the commercials (Joe Lawson), and here's hoping they forgo the laugh track in favor of more cool music (tvcomedies.about.com....sitcom.htm)
This book isn57;t new, though he may have just revised it. What a ridiculous, tedious read this was! He goes on and on (and on) about his wonderful kid as caveman theory, and how his techniques will solve your troubles if only you will get over yourself and truly use them. The actual technique itself can be summed up in a short newspaper article, so I guess he needed all the extra filler (well.blogs.nytimes.com....r-caveman/)
Dr. Karp57;s books are a little tedious51;so much repetition, does he think parents are toddlers, too? And as for his 60;caveman 61; theory51;does he mean Neanderthal or early Homo Sapiens? And who says they were primitive emotionally? (well.blogs.nytimes.com....r-caveman/)
