Black And White

I love black and white combinations because they are such an easy way to look instantly chic. Black and white is everywhere this season: in solids, prints, embellished pieces, separates, dresses, swimwear and accessories. You can't miss with this looks-great-on-everyone trend! With the prevalence of color inkjet printers, increasing affordability of color laser printers, and the frequently heard advice about how color can add impact to a design, why would anyone want to design in black & white? Well, B&W is still less expensive and B&W photocopiers, faxes, and desktop lasers are still the norm. There are still plenty of projects that can use B&W (and shades of gray) (desktoppub.about.com....f-gray.htm)

Not for the fainthearted, Black Magic/White Noise is a potent cocktail of the drastic themes and motifs that are being used and finding widespread acceptance in today's creative disciplines and design. (www.amazon.com....67-2442463)

So then the question becomes, is there any difference in designing with B&W rather than color? While the principles of design remain the same, for some B&W is perceived as boring. Perhaps we've grown too accustomed to adding a splash of color to improve a so-so design. Adding color has become so easy that we rely on the attention-grabbing power of red , the calming effect of blue , or the mystery of purple to carry our designs. So, it's not that designing with black and white is so different, only that we need to reaquaint ourselves with the power and simplicity of black and white and shades of gray (desktoppub.about.com....f-gray.htm)

I did this with photoshop, but in a slightly different way. I took a pic of me and my girlfriend and first used the auto selection tool to pick out the blue part of her eyes and a necklace she was wearing. Then copied the selection. Then made the image black and white , created a new layer and then pasted the copied parts of the image again. Moved the coloured parts to their positions and Voila! The photo is now all black and white except my girlfriends bright blue eyes and he necklace (lifehacker.com....223182.php)

There's a more professional, and much better way to complete the task. Simply duplicate the original onto a layer (just drag it onto the "new layer" button at bottom of layers palette). Then desaturate that layer (Shift+Ctrl+U). Next apply a layer mask to the new black and white layer. (The button is on bottom of layers palette). All that remains is to use black or white paint and a brush to paint away areas of the mask that you would like to be colour. This approach is entirely editable since the mask can be applied or removed at will, plus the original image is untouched. (lifehacker.com....223182.php)

Um thank you for the compliment. Uh I'm not sure if something is wrong with the allexperts site cause I don't think I asked any questions. And I already know that white guys can be very intimidated by black women and that sometimes it might be better in those situations, if the woman was more aggressive and approached the guy. Anyway thanks for your compliment. I appreciate it. and good luck finding that right woman for you whether she's black, white, asian or whatever (en.allexperts.com....guys-1.htm)

I 'save as' a color copy. Remove color and enhance. Open the original, use the 'magic wand', pick the pixels, control c (to copy), click and drag the pixels over to the black and white copy, drop and move the 'identical area' to the appropriate spot and control V to insert colored image. It seems as though it works good with flowers and such. The purpose, maybe 'cheesy' to the professional but it is the creativity that is enticing. For example. Realism and Abstract, some may dispute what artist has true talent (lifehacker.com....223182.php)

"Like so many Newspeak words, this word has two mutually contradictory meanings. Applied to an opponent, it means the habit of impudently claiming that black is white, in contradiction of the plain facts. Applied to a Party member, it means a loyal willingness to say that black is white when Party discipline demands this. But it means also the ability to believe that black is white, and more, to know that black is white, and to forget that one has ever believe the contrary. This demands as a continuous alteration of the past, made possible by the system of thought which really embraces all the rest, and which is known in Newspeak as doublethink. If this sounds dirty to you, that is because it is. Which is why former president Bill Clinton is trying to charmingly spin this away as not being an attempt to suppress the vote of CWU members, which is what it is. Which means that this is all nothing more than a sorid attempt by the Clinton machine to tell us that black is white (www.blackwhite.blog-city.com/)

I just wanted to tell you first, I think you are very beautifull.ok now thats outta the way, if your looking for a white man (one like me.lol) your gonna have to be the aggressor cause alot of white guys love black woman but are scared to approch them in fear of being turned down. Against this background, Black Magic/White Noise presents an unsettlingly fascinating collection of visuals that deal the physical and the psychological as interpreted by contemporary designers from around the world. The book seduces its readers into a conflicted world filled with chillingly beautiful illustration, photography, graphic design, collage, painting and installation. The title's "black magic" is represented by images of darkness , mystery and horror. Its "white noise" describes the unexpected infiltration of the irrational into broad daylight that can be found in some of the included works and that we have come to know and love from films by Alfred Hitchcock or books by Haruki Murakami (www.amazon.com....67-2442463)

Much the same can be said for Cheadle's talent. The 43-year-oldactor has become ubiquitous without tarnishing his ability. He'slong since surpassed the criminal milieu roles such as1998's Out of Sight that are so often the initialpreserve of black American actors. Cheadle's been the circumspecthotel manager staring down genocide in 2004's Hotel Rwanda and Adam Sandler 's confidant in the 2007 drama Reign OverMe . He's also strolled through Ocean's 11, 12 and 13 as a Cockney safecracker (www.theage.com.au....63101.html)

A former drug addict and armed robber, Petey Greene emerged fromjail in 1965 with a desire to pursue a career as a radiopersonality, having turned the PA system at the Lorton Reformatoryinto a one-man station that broadcast to the prison populace. Ittook the belief of Dewey Hughes (Chiwetel Ejiofor), who went on tobecome his best friend and manager, to get him on air at the staidwhite-owned, black-oriented WOL in Washington DC after hisrelease (www.theage.com.au....63101.html)

His show, Rapping with Petey Greene , was a mix of socialcommentary and licentious humour, leavened with funk and soulgrooves. Open about his past, Greene became a leading figure withinWashington DC's majority black community, offering unexpected civicleadership during the incendiary era when the civil rights movementgave way to black power. Before his death from cancer in 1984 he'dadded a television show to his hosting duties and begun to acquirea national profil (www.theage.com.au....63101.html)

hypothetical passageway in space-time that would connect a black hole and a white hole. A white hole is the other end of a black hole that has poked through to another part of space-time. To most theorists, wormholes are highly speculative because such a shortcut would, in effect, act as a time machine (www.britannica.com....black-hole)

Slick Willie, yes black people never vote for white people in great numbers ? And they will always vote for a black guy over a white guy. That is why Ken Blakwell is the governor of Ohio and Allan Keyes is a Senator from Maryland over the white people that are and have been the senators from Maryland (blog.washingtonpost.com....ite_v.html)

And there you have it, what we have learned about America thanks to the historic bid for the presidency in 2008 by a Black man and a woman: Bitch is the new Black. And it's going to take a lot more than sending a Black man to the White House to redeem this sorry nation (guerillawomentn.blogspot.com....llary.html)

Comments: I don'ttalk to the children about "black and white " children but tell youngsters that Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr. wanted peace and harmony for everyone. Isay "all children will become friends". I do not want to havechildren with friends of different ethnicities to focus on color sincethey have not at this point (www.preschoolrainbow.org....istory.htm)

Researchers at Cornell University are using a new kind of scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM) to take pictures of individual atoms in color for the first time. It seems odd, but 'the current generation of electron microscopes can be thought of as expensive black and white cameras where different atoms (updates.zdnet.com....cracy.html)
