Remember when Yasmine Bleeth and Jenny McCarthy were still hot? Well, BASEketball had them both and it still sucked. The film created by South Park co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone didn't do it for me. The South Park geniuses co-wrote this movie about an invented new sport that combines aspects of both Basketball and Baseball. The idea was brilliant, but the writing was just way beneath what we have grown to expect from South Park . My compadre from the Ghosts, Leopold Mellonbottom, also gave this a score of 1 and he is by far the biggest South Park fan I know, so I don't think I am blowing smoke (maybe that's my problem ooh, dumb joke). Nevertheless, most of the contributing bloggers completely disagree with our assessment: Our Book of Scrap gave Baseketball a 10 and five other bloggers gave a score of 7 or better. I went into this film with very low expectations. I thought it was be very dumb without much humor at all. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn57;t as dumb as I thought it was going to be and has some great cameos. Between Shatner, Hasselhoff and Lance Armstrong , I would have been happy if nothing else really happened in the film. Luckily there is a pirate and 60;Jimmy James61; from Newsradio to keep the movie going along as well. Not as crude as Baseketball , but almost as funny, this was a nice surprise for me (www.marktopia.n....g/netflix/)
