Why Gnibo

Our Mission is to create a service that automatically identifies interesting information on the Internet, collects it, merges all information related to a certain topic in an automatically generated article and to offer Internet users the possibility to read our automatically generated articles. The Internet is huge and unorganized making it difficult to find all the relevant information related to a certain topic, such as a celebrity, company, geographical locations, etceteras. To solve this problem automatic spider based search engines and manual categorized web directories were created. However these services only provide a number of links to the most popular websites related to a topic (search query) and it is still time consuming to find a comprehensive overview related to a topic. The wikipedia or encyclopedia's solve this problem partially as they contain manually written articles about certain topics written by specialists. The objective of the Gnibo service is to use spider based search engine technology combined with artifical intelligence and natural language processing to automatically generate articles based on all information found on the Internet. We believe that the amount of knowledge on the Internet is much bigger than available in the wikipedia and it our goal to make all this information available on one web page. We believe that the problem of the wikipedia and also directories like dmoz is that they are too manual and there are not enough volunteers to add all the relevant information or links. We can generate much more articles than present in the wikipedia as we use automated technology which can create an article for each possible search string. We use special technology to check the relevancy of information, to cluster similar information and to retrieve knowledge. The knowledge retrieved is put in a knowledge base. The relevant content of the knowledge base is shown as part of an article and is used to improve the process of automatically creating an article. To make it easier to go to related articles, we "wikify" our articles. This means that if in an article a topic of another interesting article is mentioned we will automatically create a link to this other article.

What makes Gnibo Unique?

We believe that the unique technology powering Gnibo enables the automatic creation of the most comprehensive articles en the largest number of articles on the Internet. Our articial intelligence an natural language processing technology is used to make the articles as readable as possible and to be able to retrieve and show knowledge retrieved when generating the articles. We provide links to other relevant articles if we want matching topics in an article. These links are added automatically. We include in our articles all the links to the websites that were used as input for our articles. Users of Gnibo can jump to these websites to find additional information if necessary like in ordinary search engines. We don't include paid listings in our articles. The articles are created in a completely objective way. We also use a simple user interface to keep the service simple and user friendly.

What is the underlying technology used

Our technology is completely proprietary and developed for the Gnibo service. It is running on a very efficient and fully scalable Linux environment and consists of the following components: - Spiders that automatically follow links and download web pages
- Software that parses web pages and retrieves interesting text blocks
- Software that creates an index of all the identified text blocks
- Software that matches text blocks with search queries to automatically and dynamically create an article from the best matching text blocks.
- Software that retrieves knowledge from text blocks
