By way of introduction, my name is Sheridan Vincent and Ireside at Rochester, New York . I began doing genealogical research in the late '60's,while in college, and have concentrated on my Vincent family line. Over the years ofaccumulation and correspondent exchange I have developed a considerable data warehouse onthe family name of Vincent . While I have information from manylocalities, I have concentrated on researching New York family lines originating inor passing through the state. Several New York branches of the family moved to Canada orpassed through on their way west. I can trace my line to Dr. Michael Vincent who was bornin 1784 in Columbia County, New York . I believe that he was probably a grandson of AmbroseVincent, who originated in Dutchess County, New York and settled in the 1760's at ColumbiaCounty, New York . (www.vincent-family.org/)
