Then, we are wanting to do a road trip from Gold Coast via Alice Springs to Perth and maybe Albany as well as we heard that the drive from Perth Albany is really nice (www.tripadvisor.com....ralia.html)
We would like some opinions about the route we have selected for the road trip and also info such as gas stations on the way, whether we can take hired campervans on this route, weather conditions and also accomodation places to eat. We basically want to explore the Outback and encounter some OZ wildlife (www.tripadvisor.com....ralia.html)
What route have you selected and how long do you have for this trip? You can get maps with fuelpumps in the outback. Ours is Hema. Afa I know a lot of pumps only have diesel (www.tripadvisor.com....ralia.html)
I'm trying to work on a trip report, but almost as soon as we returned home Tuesday night, we had to take my mom to the emergency room. Turns out she has the flu (in spite of having gotten a flu shot) so my report is on hold until she's out of the hospital (www.tripadvisor.com...._Rico.html)
I ate here on the recommendation from friends that visit this restaurant every trip they make to CO. YOu will not be disappointed. EXCELLENT BREAKFAST AND SERVICE! It's a little ways from River Run but so worth it. Our party of 7 was very pleased! Order the fresh squeezed OJ. (www.tripadvisor.com...._on_a.html)
The Turkey Legs are the highlite of my wifes trip to MK ,I get a little worried when I catch her looking at me strangly before she sinks her teeth into one ,lol,: (www.tripadvisor.com....orida.html)
I’m planning a trip mid-November and would really like to visit USVI but am concerned about that being the tail end of hurricane season. Any advice (www.tripadvisor.com....lands.html)
Although we didn't make it here, I wish we had. We were at the end of our trip and running out of steam. I hope other folks don't let themselves miss this (www.tripadvisor.com...._Trip.html)
OK, we know this is crazy but this is how we travel. I have a business trip to Cape Town May 25-31, 2008. We want to do a short safari sidetrip and have decided Etosha National Park is the best bet. We'll fly from Cape Town to Windhoek (www.tripadvisor.com...._Park.html)
We will have, at most, six nights and possibly only five for our trip to Namibia. We would appreciate ideas to maximize our time between Windhoek and Etosha, as well as in or around the park (www.tripadvisor.com...._Park.html)
I would look at optimizing time, as you really don't have much of it. I would look at a guided trip with a company like Tou Safaris (Namibian based).they have specialist guides who really add to your trip. (www.tripadvisor.com...._Park.html)
Knowing my daughter, though, I have to laugh at the thought of her traveling with a carry-on only! She is NOT going to travel light. until AFTER Mama pulls her around on this trip ;- (www.tripadvisor.com....Italy.html)
perhaps I should work with an agency to book my flights. so far Ive had good experience with ones suggested on Trip Advisor. can anyone recommend one they've personally used (www.tripadvisor.com...._City.html)
Yep. As mentioned. There's one at Cumberland Falls (near Corbin, KY), but it would be almost a 3 hour, one-way drive down I-75 from Gen. Butler. That would be a pretty tiring day trip, but if you wanted to spend the night at Cumberland Falls, it could be don (www.tripadvisor.com....tucky.html)
then select the Florence apartments. This will be our first trip to Florence , so are hoping this apartment will be great. Lisa from Italy Perfect has been very helpful (www.tripadvisor.com....scany.html)
The reason for this question is that June,July,August and even September are very busy months in Killarney and you would need to book and price your trip within the next few weeks. (www.tripadvisor.com....Kerry.html)
Sorry this report is so long, but I'm still flying from the trip . (and Baltimore never did get the snow, although the suburbs did.) Wish we had stayed, but oh wel (www.tripadvisor.com....ersey.html)
We're going to Valencia next Week-end, for 3 days, and I was wandering if someone had some tips for a day trip somewhere. I saw that there are 2 natural parcs around valencia. Any one to recommend (www.tripadvisor.com....untry.html)
Just one point, a member complained strongly last week (Cairo fourm), as Memphis Tours messed up her hotel reservations and she decided to cancel the families trip to Egypt. This might have been a one off, but I had to mention it anyway (www.tripadvisor.com....alley.html)
If you are of Irish Extraction, then perhaps in deference to the ancestors, a trip to the Basilica at Lisieux. Then in the afternoon, have another spiritual journey to Chateau de Breuil, in Le Breuil en Auge, a rather renowned Calvados producer www.chateau-breuil.fr (www.tripadvisor.com....mandy.html)
This was my first casino trip of 2008. After going way overboard in '07, I decided that I was going to tone it down quite a bit this year. The concept is simple: Plan further in advance, fewer trips, more money per tri (www.tripadvisor.com....ersey.html)
Apparently you and I were in line at Harrahs at the same time Sunday and they tried the same thing with me! I said "No way." I'll do my trip report sometime today. (www.tripadvisor.com....ersey.html)
My wife and me will be at Milano at the 1 of december and would like to take a 4 days trip .We will apprecciate it if you could suggest us towns to visit, perhaps the lakes(which one of them?)and accommodation places you know and like. This is our first time at Lombardy! Thanks (www.tripadvisor.com....bardy.html)
Hey waltrip, so glad you posted a report! We like trip reports on this forum, so few do them, so it was good to read yours! Sounds like you had a great time, the weather was awesome race weekend. (www.tripadvisor.com....orida.html)
When I was planning my trip to Tonga (2weeks over xmas and new year 2007-08) I found the trip advisor site useful, so I thought I should return the favour by sharing my experience (www.tripadvisor.com....Tonga.html)
Probably more information that you were perhaps hoping for however we are looking forward to this venture as we would start our trip leaving Toronto Canada and flying to Beijing , from there leaving all together to Auckland for a connection to Tonga (www.tripadvisor.com....Tonga.html)
One thing i think you did wrong with your trip is that you didn't save the safari bit to the end. You loved that part so much, that Cape Town and the Garden Route could never match up (www.tripadvisor.com....frica.html)
I really want to see some of the Everglades while we're in the Keys. We will be in KL for 4 nights. Does anyone have a reconmendation for a boat trip to the Everglades? (www.tripadvisor.com....orida.html)
I have searched all over and haven't found that as of yet. Is KL too far from the Everglades park for this type of trip? Do I have to go to the park at all or is there someplace else closer that will offer what I'm looking for (www.tripadvisor.com....orida.html)
Call the kayak outfitter in the upper keys they may have an eco kayak trip that would fit your needs. http://www.kayakfloridakeys.com/ They describe a 3 hour trip that has a 75% chance of seeing a manatee. (www.tripadvisor.com....orida.html)
Hi Everyone! Just got back from our Gorilla Trek in Rwanda and it was absolutely fantastic. If you are even "just thinking about it" DO IT! It is the trip of a lifetime. It left such an impression on me, that I'm going back in a few months to do some volunteer work there (www.tripadvisor.com....wanda.html)
The countdown is on! 14 days until I travel to Jamaica for the first time. I am VERY excited. My fiance is taking me to Club Ambiance for 6 nights. I was wondering if anyone has tips, advice, comments, suggestions, or anything to offer about this trip. (www.tripadvisor.com....maica.html)
I'm looking for an english-speaking driver /guide for a 5 day trip staring in Surabaya and then to Malang on to Blitar and then around that area before returning to Surabaya. I would appreciate the name of a good english-speaking drive (www.tripadvisor.com....-Java.html)
We are planning a 9 day trip and thinking of spending 5 days at one resort and 4 at another. Anyone else stay at more than one resort during their trip? We booked airfair seperately and are thinking the kids (9 11) would like checking out other places. We are thinking of the new princess sunset and the grand sirenis (www.tripadvisor.com....nsula.html)
Me and my husband is planning a trip to India 4 weeks in november. I work with trains in norway and i would love to ride some special and funny trains. I just saw the darjeeling limited and i just love the nice decor and service onboard and hope to find some of that (www.tripadvisor.com....India.html)
Hello, I am in the very early stages of planning a family trip to Lithuania. We are a family of 4, with 2 boys ages 13 and almost 11. We've travelled quite extensively in Europe , North America, North Africa. We would be looking to travel the first week in August 2008 (www.tripadvisor.com....uania.html)
We have found a great place to relax, enjoy a beautiful beach with fun people, great food and good drink along with snorkeling and the possibility to scuba. If you are looking for a day trip from ST Maarten and want to escape we have found the spot (www.tripadvisor.com....uilla.html)
Option 1 At Lexington, Kentucky take US-27/US-68 to Paris, Kentucky, then US-460 from Paris to Mt Sterling, Kentucky, where you will rejoin I-64 This side trip will take you right through the Kentucky bluegrass country horse farms with their throroughbred race horses (www.tripadvisor.com....ginia.html)
I would estimate close to 2 hours to get out to the Badlands . A day trip will definitely be enough to see the sights. The Badlands is more of a drive-through park, but there are many scenic overlooks and short hikes (www.tripadvisor.com....akota.html)
We are planning a trip in mid/late April (only time we can get away) starting in Denver . First we are heading east to see friends in Topeka and Geneva, Nebraska. We then have 7 nights to get back to Denver via the Black Hills area. (www.tripadvisor.com....akota.html)
Ought to have added that we are starting our trip with 3 nights in Denver staying with friends so we will get a chance to look around the area before we head east (www.tripadvisor.com....akota.html)
In between, you have time to visit the Ecomuseum (free) and if you have never seen a Bhuddist temple, that side trip if you have a car would be a good way to use up an hour inclusive of travel to and from. (www.tripadvisor.com....arana.html)
Thank you for such an informative trip report veryberryNYC. We'll be going to AXA for the 1st time in May 08, so your report will be most useful to us. Although your comments re Meads Bay worry me a little (will be staying at Malliouhana) (www.tripadvisor.com....uilla.html)
Nice trip you did. I also found Extremadura a very nice region and I'll return! Just one thing, the capital of Extremadura is Mérida and not Caceres, although there are only two provinces (Badajoz and Caceres, Mérida being in the Badajoz one). (www.tripadvisor.com....adura.html)
I went there for a day trip (from Sorrento) in December a few years ago. I thought it was a nice day. Arrived and walked to Villa Jovis, walked around town, had a nice lunch. But it is less crowded in December than in April I imagine, so I don't know if that would be a factor for yo (www.tripadvisor.com....pania.html)
I think 2 nights in the Tetons would be plenty to do a raft trip one day, hike the other day, and drive around to the other areas. If you can book a night at Lake or Grant Village in Yellowstone you will be very close to the Tetons and kind of split a day between the tw (www.tripadvisor.com....akota.html)
One backpacking trip in the north end of Banff National Park that I have done and highly recommend is Mosquito Creek/Molar Pass/North Molar Pass. We did this one a few years back as an easy three day trip as follows (www.tripadvisor.com....berta.html)
I think you will want to take Interstate 40 into Oklahoma , the Muskogee Turnpike to Tulsa, US 412 to Interstate 35, which will get you as far as Wichita . The whole trip is a little over 600 mile (www.tripadvisor.com....ahoma.html)
Can you show up in these places and get a room or will you have problems w/ availability? Do you really need to book in advance? What is the most scenic part of this trip? Not so pretty (www.tripadvisor.com....tonia.html)
my husband and i are in our early 30's and are ending a 2 month trip to thailand and new zealand with 19 days in australia . we arrive may 1st in the am and leave may 19th in the late pm. we are flying into and out of sydney and would like to drive around. any recommendations for that time of year? our original thought was to drive up to cairns and fly back to sydney . would we have enough time to do that? any suggestions for us? should we go west instead? we will have spent 2 weeks in thailand enjoying sonme beach time and 4 weeks in new zealand. we appreciate any advice or suggestions for our trip. (www.tripadvisor.ie....ralia.html)
Brisbane to Perth is a LONG way. You should be able to hire vans allowing you to make that trip, but not all will so confirm first. Unlike many other places, in Australia that distance will be largely empty through most of it. Brisbane to Alice will be bad enough, but Alice to Perth will be long stretches of nothing. There should be gas stations along the way for the sole purpose of filling you up as you're getting empty, so fill up at every opportunity you really don't want to run out in the outback. Most of these will also have basic food maybe accommodation, but don't expect too muc (www.tripadvisor.com....ralia.html)
We really wanna drive and explore places instead of flying but now I realise that we would need to extend our holiday if we choose the option of drivin (www.tripadvisor.com....ralia.html)
I had originally planned on driving through New York , Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine again on my way there like last time (beautiful scenery). And on the way back, make my way up through New Brunswick and Quebec (www.tripadvisor.com....anada.html)
In the town of Kingston, you won't want to miss Fort Henry, which was recently designated a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Education Organization. (UNESCO (www.tripadvisor.com....anada.html)
The 5 hour tour stops at Boldt Castle, which is in American waters. If you wish to walk about the island and tour through the castle , you will need to clear U.S. Customs. Be sure that you bring your identification as required. (www.tripadvisor.com....anada.html)
Don't miss it. The Atlantic and Indian Ocean don't meet here, that's a little west, but it's gorgeous. Don't forget to stop at Boulder Beach to see the African Penguins. (www.tripadvisor.com....etime.html)
Hi, we're thinking of taking our family vacation with our older teens this June in LA for a week, but also want to do a beach, too. Want to do one day at Universal, one day doing LA attractions, two days driving up to Big Sur and back and the rest at the beach . Instead of staying at a hotel and moving around, we thought we'd rent a condo/villa for a week through vrbo to have a large place and have a beach view to come back to after the day. I realize I will have to rent something overnight in the big sur area and will be doublebooked. I had thought of renting something in Laguna or Newport after reading so many positive reviews. I know traffic into LA will be bad. Should I base in Malibu instead? Other thoughts? Any advice on accommodations. I'd like to try to keep it around $2,000 for the week. This is our first trip to southern cal and I'd appreciate for your help (www.tripadvisor.com....ornia.html)
Since your sightseeing plans involve in LA or North of LA then you should probably plan on renting something in that area. If you rent in The OC then you need to tavel through traffic everytime you want to go North. (www.tripadvisor.com....ornia.html)
My husband had to cancel his trip a year ago. He had a pre-existing condition but he had a "flair up" so to speak. We took the paperwork in to the physician and he was examined. she just filled out the onset of the current problem and we received a refund of full ticket price. No problems. I do think you have to have either a new illness, return of pre-existing or sudden onset of new symtoms to be refunded though (www.tripadvisor.com....awaii.html)
I think the pre-existing thing would mean that there is no point buying insurance if the person is already ill rather than something that comes and goes. (www.tripadvisor.com....awaii.html)
I never worry about this. I think it must be because we do not prepay anything and if we have to cancel the flights we are only out $100 or so each for reticketing. Are you SURE you need this? (www.tripadvisor.com....awaii.html)
Our concern is that my father in law is elderly and he is not well and we would cancel everything if he takes a turn for the worse-so we don;t want to lose a lot of money if we have to cancel or leave early (www.tripadvisor.com....awaii.html)
I got the tamarindo flavor and it was delicious! After that, we went to the Franco bakery in town and picked up brazo gitanos. They have to be the best pastries in Puerto Rico. My favorites are pina and guayaba. (www.tripadvisor.com...._Rico.html)
Before heading to the house, we detoured onto Rd 303. What beautiful undeveloped countryside! The grassy rolling hills reminded me of southern California. We saw a beautiful stallion galloping through the rolling grasslands. I had to stop because it was "a Kodak moment" (www.tripadvisor.com...._Rico.html)
You need something that convers trip cancelation or trip interruption before or durring your trip. Also one that covers some medical if you get sick the day or so before you leave or durring. I use www.accessamerica.com and have never had any problems with them if I've had to file a claim. they also provide exellent misdirected or loss bagage protection (www.tripadvisor.com....Italy.html)
First time poster, long time reader, previously visited PR 4 times, mainly visiting Culebra. My wife and I are thinking about heading down to PR around the beginning of July, which should be the "low" season. We are planning on flying into SJU, renting a car, and heading west, towards Isabela, Aguadilla, and Rincon. Do you think we could make the trip without making reservations and still find decent places to stay without having to pay mega books by settling on a major resort property? thank (www.tripadvisor.com...._Rico.html)
Some will disagree, but I think 7 days in Etosha on what I assume is your first trip, is probably a bit unbalanced. Personally I would miss out one of the camps (Halali). You can easily visit it during the day as all the camps are within a couple of hours of each other (www.tripadvisor.com...._Park.html)
So, I would swap 2 days in Etosha for 2 at Sesriem or somewhere nearby. Try to see the dunes as the sun is rising or preferably, setting, for the best light and shadows and photos. (Also cooler) (www.tripadvisor.com...._Park.html)
Would thoroughly recommend a couple of days at Sesriem to head out to Sossusvlei to see the Dunes. Dont forget though that these 2 days will cost you 3 to 4 days of your planned itinerary to allow for the additional travelling (www.tripadvisor.com...._Park.html)
too much time in Etosha best would be two at OK and two at Nam, dropping in at halli to see the waterhole and have some lunch. Ask for CoCo in the shop or Albert and they will show you the owls too (www.tripadvisor.com...._Park.html)
If your flight comes in early, then perhaps leave out that first night in Windhoek and gor directly to Etosha. Or spend a night at Okonjima and see the cheetahs before heading to Etosha. Windhoek is a little boring in my opinion (www.tripadvisor.com...._Park.html)
I would suggest the 4 day flexi pass but do your homework to see if the 50% card would be better for you by getting the point to point fares from the Swiss Rail website sbb.ch/en for the English pages (www.tripadvisor.com....rland.html)
We found a great deal on a 2 Bedroom, 3 full bath condo in River Run. Definitely check out this site when booking your trip. Rental #152525. We slept 8 people in this condo. It was tight but everyone had a bed and if all you are using it for is sleeping it's perfect . It has 3 full baths so no waiting to use a bathroom. Very close to the slopes! Easy walk in your boots even for someone sick with the flu and having trouble breathing. (www.tripadvisor.com...._on_a.html)
This is the best place to scan websites offering flights within the US. You can find the lowest flights offered from the airlines themselves and from discount sites. It's never been a miss for me (www.tripadvisor.com...._on_a.html)
This is a great place for lunch, supper or to unwind after a long day of skiing. Good drinks, nice atmosphere. The food is not as expensive as other places. Good nachos, caesar salad, and pasta. Avoid the steaks. (www.tripadvisor.com...._on_a.html)
Cappuccino: I don't care that Italians don't drink cappuccino after breakfast time it was so wonderful in Rome that I drank it whenever I had the opportunity, including after dinner. I can handle being considered uncouth. The cheapest, by the way, was at the airport it's not often you get anything cheap at an airport (rome-hotels.tripadvisor.com....Lazio.html)
