Since the War memorial was refurbished regular annual Remembrance Day services have been held and are well supported by the community. At this year's event the service was conducted by Sandra Mehan and Keith Phillips. I did a brief tour in the US Army in the 1980's, and Memorial Day , more so than Veteran's Day has been a more meaningful holiday for me. Unlike Veteran's Day, Memorial Day is about the memory of lives lost in war. Whether the cause was just, or in as in Iraq, not so much, the cogs in the wheels of war, are the soldiers.
