No, I donāt like to be famous. I live my life and apparently others are interested in it. They often write things that are not true. But if you pay attention to it, it will get to you. I just donāt like to talk about my personal life. I just live my life and am myself (www.arjanwrites.com....s/2007/05/)

Hornby: Really, I want empathy for all my major characters, just like everyone does, I suppose. Your question presupposes that either my readership or I has a problem empathizing with or understanding women, and it has only occurred to me relatively recently that actually the genders understand each other very well. There is a whole industry now telling us how to understand each other better, and after a while we absorb it and start to think that there is a gulf, when really there isn't. It's like, if you read a whole book on how to boil an egg, you'd begin to doubt your own ability after a while. Most of us have friends and lovers whom we understand pretty well when relationships fail, it's usually because people, not genders, are complicated, and anyway the differences between the sexes have become much more blurred over the last couple of decades. I think that the female response to High Fidelity in particular, which lately has been pretty much the same as the male response, made me want to write about everybody, not just guys, or women, or men (www.awpwriter.org....rchi01.htm)

are, internally, completely different, but you just want to write functional, easy-to-read, and easy-to-maintain scripts, so since they could give them the same name for your convenience, they did (www.guistuff.com....ys_a1.html)

This was the music that was coming out. And I think I gravitate towards writing more country style, that's just my style when I write. So I kind of honored it. It's definitely music I like. It's my taste. It's not to say I don't like rock and roll, I do, but if I'm going to go home, this is the sort of stuff I would listen to. Right. It sounds like you need to gravitate towards your voice and what you feel most comfortable in, whether it's writing or performing or both, and that's where you're at right now with this one. Well, I just think with music, especially, I don't want to be acting. You already have to fight the actress thing. And I just, to me the thing I love about it is it's actually even more of who I am than my acting. So I have to be truthful. I'm writing it and I'm singing it and I can't write something I don't know, that doesn't make sense to me. Right. And it's also probably one of several reasons why you want to pursue music in the first place, as to not be someone el (www.mp3.com....10815.html)

A few times now, I57;ve been wanting to write this down. I know: a lot of people will go *shrug* . Others may find me pedantic. Some of will say I57;m being a smart-ass. Whatever70;but I just got to write down a few of these common misconceptions that keep floating around. (www.oreillynet.com/databases/)

Steven Brust, long one of my favorite fantasy writers, has posted the full text of a Firefly fan-fic novel he wrote. He talked to me about this book last year, saying that he just had to write it - that it sat up in his head one day and demanded to be let out. (www.boingboing.net/copyfight/)

So, I just had to write one more article. I installed the windows version of PostgreSQL 8.3 on Vista and it workes like a charm. One feature that I thought was a nice addition was the "Application Stack Builder". This add-on allows you to add features like Npgsql (the .NET data provider) or things like Slony-I and Ruby on Rails. Pretty nice add-on (www.planetpostgresql.org/)

I realize I agreed to the deal when I signed the mortgage papers, but I am within my rights to walk away from a bad deal and suffer the consequences, just as many corporations write down billions of dollars of debt, lose money for their shareholders, and lay off people as a result of their bad decisions (latimesblogs.latimes.com....reclosure/)

It would be great if phpmv can check some session information. At the installation, we would just have to write the name of the session variables that we want phpmv to save, like for example login . So we could know which user visited the site (feedback.phpmyvisites.net....20Features)

I just wanted to write in quickly about the coming changeover to IPv6. All recent Operating Systems support IPv6 natively, that is to say XP SP1 and forward, Vista, Apple OS X 10.4 & 10.5 and most flavors of Linux. With that said, the changeover shouldn't really be of any concern t (reviews.cnet.com....l?tag=next)

Kirk Polking, the former editor of Writer's Digest and former director of Writer's Digest School, demonstrates with her own skillful writing just how to write informatively and to be engaging at the same time (www.amazon.com....dislist-20)

HiveMinds Magazine mentions Perl 5.10, and then asks about Perl 6. "I just wish someone would write some insider info on Perl 6 before the new year," says author ahamilton. Hey, I'm working on it. (Also interesting that it's HiveMinds magazine, similar to Hiveminder , a web application run by Jesse Vincent , the Perl 6 project manager. (perlbuzz.com/perl-foundation/)

3/20/01 "I just had to write to tell you about the strength of your site. Refdesk is simply the single greatest resource available online. I use your directory virtually every day for both personal and professional uses." B.R (www.refdesk.com/com2001.html)

In the season of political primaries, I would like to know why the Secretary is not running for President. I might just have to write her in next November (blogs.state.gov....s/welcome/)

A few times now, I've been wanting to write this down. I know: a lot of people will go *shrug*. Others may find me pedantic. Some of will say I'm being a smart-ass. Whatever.but I just got to write down (www.oreillynet.com....g/atom.xml)

I bought this book after seeing it at a scrapbook convention. I had been wanting to add more journaling to my scrapbooks but was stuck on just what to write and how to write it. Read more (www.amazon.com....dislist-20)

Funny, I was just about to write the same thing as Bruce just wrote. I have lost any respect I have for this actor, not only for his homophobic feelings for airing it on national television for everyone to hear. It's a sad state of affairs when such discrimination is as vocal as Mr. Curtis (www.armyarcherd.com....ny_cu.html)

Sorry for long post, just wanted to write a fair review after reading a few negative ones mostly dwelling on the example errors. This is a well written, down to earth book that aims to get you to grip with Spring concepts in no time, providing you already know the pains of Java without Spring. (www.oreilly.com....springadn/)

News is more than that, though. It always needs context, and in rapidly developing technical fields that context is expensive to generate. Say someone's built a new spintronics transistor in a Maryland labs: we could just re-write the press release (community.zdnet.co.uk....77b,00.htm)

Nevow and Wallaby Define "framework," though. Do you mean something like a Django -type deal or something that just makes it easier to write CGI apps (wiki.python.org....SpellCheck)

My friends said, "Ignore it." They said, "Those guys are morons." They said, "Let's just read and write things in other places where men aren't dicks. (www.boingboing.net....4/09-week/)

So we have till November and only have two unsavory candidates to distract voter attention away from him instead of 20. Just being the only write-in hopeful is attention getting in itsel (latimesblogs.latimes.com..../paul.html)

At some time or other we57;ve probably all written code that just uses strings to write out a fragment of XML. It57;s cheap but clunky, but it saves having to instantiate a DOM tree or any of that fiddly stuff. Groovy57;s flexible strings allow us to do this very, very simply (www.regdeveloper.co.uk...._part_one/)

But she is sorry to say that she is not running for President, and would turn down the position if it were offered. So you and David will just have to write in Ron Paul instead. The poor fellow needs the moral support. (ohprettylady.blogspot.com/)

Outsourcing usually involves a mix of consulting companies, each with their own objectives will sometimes conflict with yours. I'm sure most offshore companies are honest and reputable. But even so, just be sure to write a very tight contract (searchdatacenter.techtarget.com....63,00.html)

I realize I agreed to the deal when I signed the mortgage papers, but I am within my rights to walk away from a bad deal and suffer the consequences, just as many corporations write down billions of dollars of debt, lose money for their shareholders, and lay off people as a result of their bad decisions. Hmm. I just tried to write a short description of continuationpassing style and ended up duplicating most of Dan's post, but not sowell written, you're better off reading that (www.perl.com....30518.html)

The next most common thing you'll hear is that Perl is ugly, or untidy, oris a write-only language. Unfortunately for me, there's a large number ofPerl programs out there that appear to back this up. But just because youcan write ugly programs, this doesn't mean it's an ugly language therewas an Obfuscated C Competition long before there was an Obfuscated Perlone (www.perl.com....Myths.html)

If you really want, you can try and hide the source code; you can usesource filters, you can try compiling it with the Perl compiler, but noneof these things guarantee that it can't be unencrypted or decompiled andnone of them will fix any problems. Far better just to write secure code (www.perl.com....Myths.html)

Well, not really.I just have a little write up in this month's issue of Juxtapoz magazine. I have Caleb Neelon to thank for this, so thank you Caleb! It's on newsstands now if you want to get a copy (www.katyhoran.blogspot.com/)

Now the lure of a Lisp interpreter in my text editor has tempted again. So much so, that I am going to give Emacs another shot. If I can57;t get Emacs to do what I want, I guess I will just have to write my own editor, but for now I am going see if I can make Emacs work for me (www.kendyck.com....s/2004/02/)

But, just as importantly, you feel slighted that your main cheerleader was shut out from the front page and your rage is uncontainable. You just had to write a letter to the Editor. (www.socalbubble.com/2006/05/)

I know that NOT participating in a war (and such a misguided one at that) should be considered better than wanting to be in one just to write a book, he wrote May 18, 2006. But.maybe I'd rather be both. (www.libertarian....m/2007/07/)

One fan points out that she omitted the must-see bunny-rage horror of NIGHT OF THE LEPUS, in which mutant rabbits terrorize a mining town. No amount of low angle and forced perspective shots can disguise the fact that the monsters are just little rabbits (www.mcnblogs.com....e/2006/08/)

Tired of those pesky deodorant streaks on your clothing? Come on gals you know what I'm talking about! We've all been there. We're getting ready to go and then, oh-no! Well, I just found a solution to this annoying problem. It's Gal Pal to the rescue! (www.mommieswithstyle.com....g/2006/10/)

Jensense just put out a great write-up about Google57;s forecast of smaller margins for Adsense in 2006. I am not going to try and add anything to this, you should simply go and read it for yourself. I am not sure that it is going to come as a total surprise to anyone, [70; (www.golod.com/2006/03/)

I just wanted to write a very quick note to let people know that I am indeed freā and beyond happy. I just wanted to say an immediatā incredibly sincere THANK YOU to all the people who worked so very hard to support me. I can not tell you how much it means. I have been very busy . (www.palsolidari....n/2003/03/)

Retro-blogging clearly a trend!: How many people are needed to start a trend? Just as I write this, a very similarly styled list pops up over at Mediefunderinger (www.oov.no....s/2007/02/)

KRiSTiNEDAHLiNG (www.fanfiction.net/r/2304690/)

Before, I go any farther, I'd like to say that I do not mean to abuse these authors in general. They just happened to write the piece of code that shows a practice I've come to believe is wrong. I have seen variants of this problem for most of the 20-odd years I've been programming (www.anomaly.org....04_01.html)

You'd use POIFS if you had a document written in OLE 2 Compound Document Format, probably written usingMFC, that you needed to read in Java. Alternatively, you'd use POIFS to write OLE 2 Compound Document Formatif you needed to inter-operate with software running on the Windows platform. We are not just bragging whenwe say that POIFS is the most complete and correct implementation of this file format to date! (poi.apache.org/)

"I'd like to just go through this and enjoy it while it lasts and then deal with it when it ends. Maybe I'll go back to school and study. Maybe I'll write a record. I don't know." (blog.washingtonpost.com....og-viewall)

I won't get into how that cost was conceived - or whether the bubble was a split level or just a garden-variety bubble. Suffice it to say that the prior preparer had the chutzpah (that's a technical accounting term) to actually write "pure bubble" on the client 's tax return (articles.moneycentral.msn.com....ditMe.aspx)

"I don't need a big bouquet of flowers," Leonardo DiCaprio 's on-again girlfriend, model Bar Rafaeli, told us. "Maybe just one flower that you picked out on the street. Just write a card no gifts, no dinner. I like simple things." (www.nydailynews.com....sh_molloy/)

Sebastian sees the promise of computing as in social terms. With XO,every person becomes a TV broadcaster51;and XO is even moreempowering, because TV broadcasts can57;t be chopped up and digitallyaltered. Sebastian says he learned Logo before he learned to read andwrite, and its mastery gave him a learning attitude that he57;spreserved his whole life. He wants children not just to make moviesand write papers, but to appreciate the drastically open nature of thesystems they57;re given (www.oreillynet.....lamp/blog/)
