As a show, this is where things get interesting. It has a strong plot,good acting and writing, just about everyone agrees that Barbara Gordonis played very faithfully by Dina Meyer and so is Ian Abercrombie'sAlfred Pennyworth. The show boasts a solid soundtrack, very solid infact, the opening song Revolution and the final one'd All the ThingsShe Said and A Sorta Fairytale are more than perfect fits. Johnny Rico (Caspar Van Dien) signs up for military service because his girlfriend Carmen Ibanez (Denise Richards ) has joined up with the hope of becoming a pilot; their mutual friend Carl Jenkins (Neil Patrick Harris) also joins up. While Carmen is accepted to flight school and Jenkins is assigned to military intelligence, Rico is made a grunt in the Mobile Infantry. He is joined there by another former classmate, Dizzy Flores (played wonderfully by Dina Meyer ), who has long had her eye on Rico. Boot camp is incredibly harsh and difficult because the MI only wants the best soldiers. Before long, a Klendathu meteor strikes the earth, wiping Buenos Aires off the map, and the armed forces quick launch an invasion of Klendathu. In its campy format you will find humor and entertainment in what can only be described as a dismal futuristic setting! Dazzling performances by Casper Van Dien , Denise Richards and the alluringly gorgeous Dina Meyer ! Starship Troopers is a big movie that I have watched and enjoyed over and over again. The director and producers did an outstanding job in making this film and its bugs exceptionally realistic.
