Together they had the perfect balance to form a stylized "b" for the new Belgian carrier Brussels Airlines and the number also matched the destinations it flew to in Africa, a key market. "It was harmony," she said, wistfully (www.usatoday.com....logo_x.htm)

This week, however, Brussels Airlines workers were changing the 13-ball logo on the tail and sides of an Airbus 319 and adding a 14th one in response to complaints from superstitious customers in the United States and Italy (www.usatoday.com....logo_x.htm)

Immediately after the November announcement that the successor airline to the merged SN Brussels and Virgin Express would come into operation March 25 with the 13-ball "b" logo, the company was flooded with disapproving emails and call (www.usatoday.com....logo_x.htm)

"They said they were not pleased with an aircraft with a logo with 13 balls because they think it brings them bad luck," said Brussels Airlines spokesman Geert Scio (www.usatoday.com....logo_x.htm)

Tammy Karplus of Portland , Oregon said she understood Brussels Airline's decision as she prepared to board a Geneva-bound flight at Germany 's Frankfurt -Main airport (www.usatoday.com....logo_x.htm)

Brussels Airlines had the choice to go to 12 dots or 14. It chose 14 because of the religious connotations of the 12 disciples. Luckily, Brussels Airlines is not flying to China, where 14 is a definite no-no. (www.usatoday.com....logo_x.htm)

Brussels sprouts are loaded with vitamin A , folacin, potassium, calcium. They have 3-5 grams of fiber per cup, and at 25 calories per 1/2 cup cooked, they give us a reason to eat them more often. Brussels sprouts are one of those foods that will fill you up, without filling you out, always a plus for weight loss. (health.howstuffworks.com....uts-ga.htm)

Brussels sprouts are very high in fiber, and they belong to the disease-fighting cabbage family. Indeed, they look like miniature cabbages. Like broccoli and cabbage - fellow cruciferous vegetables - brussels sprouts may protect against cancer with their indole, a phytochemical. They are also particularly rich in vitamin C , another anticancer agent. (health.howstuffworks.com....uts-ga.htm)

Brussels sprouts are all-star winter vegetables, so good that when summer comes I miss them. I love them cooked in any number of ways, but this is among my favorite (bitten.blogs.nytimes.com....th-garlic/)

I cannot remember when I intentionally began to almost-burn Brussels sprouts by roasting them until they were really, really dark. But cooked this way, the crisp outside leaves and tender, almost artichoke-like interior cannot be beat (bitten.blogs.nytimes.com....th-garlic/)

Oh, yummy. I grew up hating Brussels sprouts because Mom boiled the hell out of 56;em, but since found that they are delicious sauteed in butter and garlic (bitten.blogs.nytimes.com....th-garlic/)

I even do this with a good chicken sausage. If it57;s a pre-cooked sausage, I don57;t attempt to render it first. Just chop it and add it after the brussels sprouts are brown (bitten.blogs.nytimes.com....th-garlic/)

Brussels sprouts are among my favorite things about winter! (I57;ve been known to make an entire meal out of this particular dish70;and the roasted garlic is a great partner to the sprouts. (bitten.blogs.nytimes.com....th-garlic/)

Like you, I discovered the technique of roasting Brussels sprouts within an inch of their lives a short while back. Since you like that, I am sure you will also like Shaved Brussels Sprouts with Pancetta from Sunset magazine: (bitten.blogs.nytimes.com....th-garlic/)

Keep the garlic, substitute sesame oil and soy sauce for the olive oil and vinegar when oven-roasting. Even people who think they don57;t like brussels sprouts will be converted (bitten.blogs.nytimes.com....th-garlic/)

I fixed this last night per the recipe. Sorry, but it tasted like burnt cabbage with vinegar. I like the concept of roasted brussels sprouts and will look for better methods (bitten.blogs.nytimes.com....th-garlic/)

Brussels have a great earthiness, so you need flavors that compliment and contrast, e.g.: Try with roasted hazlenuts, then with a little fresh lemon juice squeezed over at the last moment. That57;s killer (bitten.blogs.nytimes.com....th-garlic/)

Cut stem from each brussels sprout and pull off outer bruised leaves. Cut an "X" deep into stem end of each brussels sprout. If some brussels sprouts are larger than others, cut large brussels sprouts lengthwise into halves (recipes.howstuffworks.com....recipe.htm)

Combine brussels sprouts, water, lemon juice and lemon peel in 1-quart microwavable casserole; cover. Microwave on HIGH 3 minutes. Stir to break apart; cover. Microwave on HIGH 2 to 3 minutes or until brussels sprouts are tender. Drain; sprinkle with pepper and thyme (recipes.howstuffworks.com....recipe.htm)

Going to Brussels in April, and would like to what and where there are flea markets in Brussels and surrounding areas. Japanese collectables are one of my interests. But general interest too (www.tripadvisor.com....mburg.html)

The long-delayed European sat nav project Galileo was plunged into fresh controversy last night , as a plan by Brussels officials to solve funding problems met political opposition (www.theregister.co.uk....s_galileo/)

If construction funding for Galileo were channeled via the ESA, the EU/EC government in Brussels would presumably have relatively little say in how the sat nav system was run. Conceivably, it might become a politically neutral service guaranteed to operate regardless of wars, disputes etc (www.theregister.co.uk....s_galileo/)

When Brussels hotels are extremely expensive mid-week, the Argus will do. The rooms are very clean but look just like a dorm room. Small, completely white, small industrial desk, white wardrobe.
