This is the best restaurant for beer in Brugge . The selection is far larger than any other bar. Expensive food. This restaurant has the feel of a New York bistro. Sit at the bar for the best service and for beer. The large binder serving as a beer menu is organized by beer name rather than brewery, so making your selection may take time (www.tripadvisor.com....rugge.html)

The Hotel Salvators saved our trip to Brugge ! We had booked a horrible hotel (Hotel Koffieboontje) and were wandering the city depressed, hoping that we could get ourselves drunk enough that we could just pass out and not have to think about how disgusting our accomodations were, when we happened upon the Hotel Salvators. It was adorable, affordable and had. mor (www.tripadvisor.com....nders.html)

Brugge is spectacular in the evenings. The reflections of the buildings on canals and the quietness after the crowds go is breathtaking. Just walk all over and have a great time. Very romantic. We liked Brugge better than Paris (www.tripadvisor.com....nders.html)
Maybe I could expand the info of ReuzeEmma a bit. The trains 5 past the hour from Brussels South (Brussel Zuid/Bruxelles Midi) to Bruges (Brugge ) are the ones direction Oostende , but the trains 32 minutes past the hour go to Knokke. So both directions Oostende and Knokke take you also to Bruges (www.tripadvisor.com....nders.html)

I'm not familiar with Thai or Japanese cuisine in Brugge , so I can't advise you on that. I'm not sure it'll be equally good than in London because in Belgium we tend to stick to our own (excellent) Belgian/French cuisine. (www.tripadvisor.com....nders.html)

Brugge was the only place that we spent two nights on this trip and I was very pleased with our choice of hotel. Hotel Fevery is a small 10 room hotel located a 10-15 minute walk away from the city center in a quiet residential area by St. Giles church. I didn't feel at all uncomfortable walking back to the hotel at night with my husband, but the streets get pretty deserted when the day trippers leave which might be a consideration for a single female traveler. We booked a double room with bathroom ensuite, it was 73.50E per night which included tax and breakfast, which was tea, coffee, juice, toast, cereal, ham and cheese, pretty standard for breakfast in Belgium . If you are driving, be sure to request one of the parking spots, an additional 5E per night. We were advised that parking restrictions exist in all of Brugge and you could only park on the street for a maximum of 4 hours (www.virtualtourist.com....-BR-1.html)
Hotel Ter Duinen was a lovely place to stay in Brugge . The short walk into town was in the old city/canal area and was a pleasant experience. The hotel and staff were excellent and the breakfasts very nice. This is more than your average continental breakfast sliced meats, cheeses, yogurt, many bread choices, fruit and soft boiled eggs, for example, available. The room was nice and there is a computer available to guests for those who do not want to be encumbered with a laptop. The hosts were helpful and made reservations at restaurants for us.
